    The island of Rodrigues is a true paradise for kitesurfing, which is still preserved from mass tourism. The island is surrounded by a huge shallow lagoon that offers quite varied conditions for kitesurfing. The main kite zone is located in the southeast of the island, in Anse Mourouk.

  • Coconut Island

    A natural refuge for seabird colonies, Coconut Island is located in the middle of the southeast lagoon of Rodrigues Island and is famous for the sandy beaches that surround its shores. The island is accessible by boat only.

  • François Leguat Giant Turtle Reserve

    On the south coast, just minutes from the airport, this giant turtle reserve is the result of the passion for the natural heritage of the island. According to François Leguat three turtle species dating from the 18th century has been documented here, you can visit a beautiful natural cave with a guide to accompany you.

  • The market of Port Mathurin

    The Saturday market in Port Mathurin is as busy as Rodrigues gets and it’s the best place on the island to shop for fresh produce and souvenirs. It’s open the rest of the week but really gears up on Saturday, when much of the island turns out. It’s next to the bridge near the post office.

  • Anse Bouteille

    Nestled between Grand Anse, Anse Philibert and Anse Bouteille, Trou D’Argent is a tiny beach nestled between coral cliffs. It is inaccessible by car or bicycle. The journey is made, therefore, on foot by taking the small paths bordering the beach Fumier, Anse Ally and Saint François.

  • The Potato Cave, geological wonder of Rodrigues

    The Potato Cave is located southwest of Rodrigues and extends over 1000 meters. It is the longest cave of Mauritius and Rodrigues.

  • Octopus salad

    In Rodrigues, octopus is a much appreciated local delicacy, loved for its taste and tenderness. Whether in a salad or as a curry, “vindaye” or “daube”, the octopus is the closest thing you will find to Rodriguan national dish. It is present in every restaurant menu and is a big part of a regular Rodriguan diet.
